This is the fourth and final restored panel to reappear on the Marquette's East Facade. I hate to say that there are NO MORE. (This series of Marquette posts has been great pleasure.) Spectacular work, by Hermon Atkins MacNeil and the John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation. Thank you.

  1. Gregory,
Thanks for the wonderful story of the Herman MacNeil Art panel restoration. I found them recently as i was preparing to build a Website gathering the works of Herman Atkins MacNeil in one virtual place.
I have quoted you liberally. Tagged your gorgeous website and propigated the knowledge of MacNeil, Marquette Bldg, and the Art of Chicago Loop.
I hope my efforts meet with your approval. I look forward to walking by and looking up the next time I am in Chicago.

  2. Dear Gregory,
Thank you for the wonderful story and pictures of the restoration of the MacNeil bronze relief panels on the Marquette Bldg last summer. I found them as I was searching for material for a my new website that gathers the Art of Harmon Atkins MacNeil.

I have quoted your postings liberally, tagging the website. I hope it will help people enjoy the Loop even from afar. I look forward to seeing them up close on my next trips to Chicago.
